What do you want your code to do?
Add your link
Make it yours (optional)
One tap for a whole look. You can change anything after.
Tip: a simple logo with a see-through background looks best. Codes with a logo get extra error correction so they still scan.
Your code is ready
Test it first: point your phone camera at the code.
Free codes have a small "Made with ScanSpot" line under them. Personal or Business removes it.
This code points straight to your link. Nothing in between, so it never expires.
Want to change it after it's printed?
With an editable code you can switch where it goes any time: new menu, new event, new link. You also see how many people scanned it. And unlike other sites: if you ever stop paying, your codes keep working. You just can't edit them anymore.
Billed once a year, cancel any time. Get in at the launch price and keep it as long as you stay subscribed. Already have a plan? Log in
The deal. No traps.
Many QR sites give you a "free" code, then switch it off when a trial ends. Here's exactly how ScanSpot works.
Questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. Free codes here are "static": your link is inside the code itself, not sent through our website. They'll work as long as your link works, even if ScanSpot disappeared.
Why do codes from other sites stop working?
Many "free" generators make codes that go through their own website first, then switch them off when a free trial ends unless you pay. Our editable codes also go through our website (that's how you can change them), but they keep working if you stop paying.
What do editable codes cost?
Personal is $20 a year for up to 10 codes. Business is $50 a year (launch price) for up to 100 codes, daily scan charts, and making many codes at once from a list. No monthly fees, no trial that runs out. Paid plans also remove the small "Made with ScanSpot" line. Free codes stay free forever.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your editable codes keep sending people to the last link you set, and keep counting scans. You just can't change them until you renew.
What size should I print it?
At least 2 cm (about 0.8 inch) wide for something held in a hand, like a business card. For posters or signs read from a few steps away, go bigger: roughly 1/10 of the scanning distance. Always test-scan before printing a lot.
Will a logo or colors stop it from scanning?
Usually not. Codes with a logo use extra error correction. Keep the code dark on a light background with strong contrast; we'll warn you if the colors look too close.
Do you save what I type?
Free codes: no. They're made right in your browser and what you type never leaves your device. Editable codes: we store the link it opens, a name you pick, and how many scans it gets per day. Nothing about the people who scan it.
